Mtec Formula Technology has been known as a Finnish Formula Ford manufacturer. But lately Mtec has also manufactured crosskarts for Mini, 85cc and 125cc classes.
During the autumm 2017 we developed the first crosskart prototype, The Mtec Tiger. Our model combines many technological solutions from track racing, Formulas and already existing crosskarts into one package. Lot of changes has been made compared to traditional crosskarts, specially for front suspension geometry and several new safety features.
The factory test driver Ilari Sääskilahti drove the 85cc Mtec Tiger for the first season and won the winter series championship 2018 with it. He also did exceptionally well in the summer series races scoring several wins and podiums. In addition to Ilari we had one Mtec Tiger in every class by the end of summer season.
Miio Nurminen made his personal racing debut with Mtec Tiger in 125cc class developing his speed all throughout the autumm races. Miio already showed his speed in many well driven races this season. We believe he will be a very tough competitor next year as he gains more experience.
Latest Mtec was sold to Kaapo and Kasperi Ahonen that have been driving the Mini class. Kasperi was issued the Mtec Tiger for the races as Kaapo got his brothers old crosskart to start his racing career with that. But it seems it’s a matter of time before Kaapo would prefer to have his own Tiger aswell 😉
